The nurses of St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester are going on strike starting Monday, March 8th. They have been trying to negotiate with the For-Profit, Texas-based owners of the hospital, Tenet Healthcare, for months.
Despite Tenet profiting $73-MILLION from our community over the past pandemic year, Tenet refuses to bring staffing ratios in line with other area hospitals. Instead, nurses at St. Vincent Hospital have faced furloughs and layoffs. Meanwhile, patients – our families and neighbors – have suffered from preventable incidents and complications due to the mismanagement of the hospital by Tenet.
We must support the nurses of St. Vincent Hospital in this fight.
