RCS Insurance Backpay

Several weeks ago, a member of the negotiating committee brought to the union representative’s attention that Richmond may have been overcharging UNITE HERE Local 919 members on the employee contribution of our healthcare. The union grieved the issue and found that Richmond has been over-charging your bi-weekly health insurance payments at the following rates:

* Note: Some members were arbitrarily paying about $10 more than their peers, which will also be corrected and back-paid.

This error has since been corrected. You may have noticed in your last paycheck that you paid slightly less for your health insurance. You will also be receiving back-pay from Richmond Community Services in the first payroll period after July 31st.

Your back-payment will be calculated beginning January 1st, 2021 up to the last paycheck with the overpayment. Your Union works hard to get you the benefits that you are entitled to while holding Richmond accountable to our contract. We are happy to be returning this money back to your pockets.
